Take One and Take Two (Above the Line Series books 1 and 2) by Karen Kingsbury

Book 1: This series has been on my shelf for awhile now. I've been reading the Bailey Flanigan series and felt like I needed to read the books before so I could get caught up on everything. This book started out slow for me. New characters were introduced and it took me until about halfway through the book to start "liking" them for lack of a better term. Bascially two missionaries decide to make an inspirational film. And they want all creative control so they get "backers" to help them finance the movie. They have lots of trials that seem to get in the way and make it really hard for them to make this movie they feel like they are being led to make. One of the mens daughter Andi is introduced as Bailey Flannigan's college roommate. She has grown up a missionaries child and has always been a relatively good kid. However she is starting to feel like she is missing out and starts putting herself in less then stellar situations. ie drinking at a frat party and alone at a lake with a movie star who is known as a player and having his way with the ladies. In the end they are faced with not having enough money to finish the movie. Will God give them a way to finish or is this God's way of telling them this is not His will. It is an ok book its definitely not my favorite Karen Kingsbury book. I will read the rest of the series but I really think this is going to get better as the series progresses.
review book 2 was a lot better then book 1. I feel for Kelly and Chase and hope that in books 3 and 4 they figure out a way to make things work better. Andi drives me nuts because she is so uneducated when it comes to life. I wish Bailey would just get over Cody Coleman. And I wish Cody Coleman would just get over her. LOL. Its a vicious cycle. Really! Still not my favorite series of books. But they are still pretty good. They are not awful by any means. I decided to combine these into one long post instead of two since it was a series and I read these back to back! Rated 3 stars for both!

Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs by Molly Harper

Before reading this book I glanced at some of the reviews and they were a bit all over. So I was kind of leary thinking I wasn't going to like it. I was pleasantly surprised! Its a chick lit vampire book. So in other words it was a fun easy read. And that is exactly what I wanted. Something fun and that I wasn't going to have to think about or absorb. I rated 4 stars. Here is a summary: Maybe it was the Shenanigans gift certificate that put her over the edge. When children's librarian and self-professed nice girl Jane Jameson is fired by her beastly boss and handed twenty-five dollars in potato skins instead of a severance check, she goes on a bender that's sure to become Half Moon Hollow legend. On her way home, she's mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead. And thanks to the mysterious stranger she met while chugging neon-colored cocktails, she wakes up with a decidedly unladylike thirst for blood. Jane is now the latest recipient of a gift basket from the Newly Undead Welcoming Committee, and her life-after-lifestyle is taking some getting used to. Her recently deceased favorite aunt is now her ghostly roommate. She has to fake breathing and endure daytime hours to avoid coming out of the coffin to her family. She's forced to forgo her favorite down-home Southern cooking for bags of O negative. Her relationship with her sexy, mercurial vampire sire keeps running hot and cold. And if all that wasn't enough, it looks like someone in Half Moon Hollow is trying to frame her for a series of vampire murders. What's a nice undead girl to do?

City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare

Book 4 in The Mortal Instruments series.

I really like Cassandra Clare and her ability to tell a story. This book took me a long time to finish only because I didn't always have access to my Nook (Thanks Angry Birds)

This book was like a crazy ride at the amuzement park. One minute you are crusing along checking out the scenery then the next thing you are plummeting down a hill because its like the ground has been taken out from underneath you. One minute I was reading it thinking everything would be resolved and life would be ok then the next I'm thinking OMG. HOLY CRAP. Is the next book out yet?

This one starts off where the last left off. You have Clary and Jace and Jace is having dreams of killing Clary then he tries to. Simon is having his own issues and Clary is training to be a shadowhunter.

There is just so much to say about this book. Its great really!

Explosive Eighteen by Janet Evanovich

Book 18 in the Stephanie Plum series. I love this series and this book was no exception. I laughed out loud several times. This one starts after a LONG flight back from Hawaii where obviously something has happened with Stephanie and the two men in her life Morrelli and Ranger. As the book goes on you kind of piece together what happened. As usual someone is after Stephanie. And she finds herself looking over her shoulder on a daily basis.

With action, hilarity, wise cracking granny Mazur, and the hysterical Lula you can't help but love this book and the characters!

Look for the movie "One For The Money" in Theaters later this month. The first novel in the Stephanie Plum Series!

4 Star rating!

SLEIGHT (AVRA-K BOOK 1) by Jennifer Sommersby

How can I review this book other the WOW.

I have a few friends who have read this book and they all raved about it. I promptly downloaded it onto my nook and added it to my to-read list. Months went by and I kept reading other books but this cover called to me and I knew I needed to read it soon. Over the holiday break I decided I wasn't going to take any extra books and read only what was on my nook. I'm so glad I did! From the start it was like crack to me. Or what I imagine a crack addiction to be like. Only this addiction was in the form of a book and wanting to know what happened. I started reading it and thought Holy cow this is 772 pages. How am I ever going to get through this? It only took me a few days LOL.

Ghosts follow Gemma around. They have her whole life. Gemma has grown up living in a Circus. In a short time span her whole life changes and she is going to attend regular high school with regular kids. Her first day she meets Henry and the attraction is INTENSE. But Henry has a secret and Henry's father does NOT want them together.

If I keep going I'm going to give things away so I'll stop there. Just know its REALLY good and I know I for one CANNOT wait for the next book!

5 star rating!!!!
