VAMPIRE ACADEMY by Richelle Mead

I have been reading this book kind of off and on for a while. Recently I decided I needed to go ahead and finish it. All of my friends have talked about this series and I hear random people raving about it all the time. So I figured I would join the club. It wasn't a book that was so awesome to me I couldn't put it down. But it did hold my attention and did keep me interested. And it was a different look into the Vampire world. I did enjoy reading it and will probably finish the rest of the series as long as it stays interesting. I liked that they had such a strong female character Rose. It really is an interesting book. Here is a summary: St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger... Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.
